Greetings fellow Lankans! By now you must be accustomed to hearing of crisis after crisis that emanates from the body that governs our Cricket. Well, I am!
Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge has spoken of dissolving the interim committee headed by Arjuna Ranatunga and Arjuna has responded.
Jatila Karawita from the Sunday Observer writes of Ranatunga’s response to minister Lokuge. You can find the full article here.
“I have nothing to lose, so if the Minister wants to dissolve the Interim Committee he can go ahead and do so”, said Arjuna.
“The President asked me to do a certain job at the Cricket Board and I have done that to the best of my ability. “This place (SLC) was rampant with corruption and nepotism when I took over, and I guess, to a great extent I have been able to put an end to it all, though, I agree that more needs to be done”, he added.
So is this then the end of Arjuna? Or will he pull Putin and find a way back into head any future governing body of Sri Lankan Cricket? With President Rajapaske’s support anything is possible these days.
