A tough tour looms

Sri Lanka has won just one Test against Australia, after playing 20 Tests against them since 1983. The Australians have been a dominant force in world cricket, and it is reflected in their 13 wins against Sri Lanka.

Without Muttiah Muralitharan, it’s going to be tough to dismiss a good Test side, we saw it in England recently. But Australia no longer boasts of a rock-solid batting line up that included Mathew Hayden, Damien Martin, Justin Langer and Adam Gilchrist.

Nevertheless, Sri Lanka lack the fire-power in their bowling department to consistently trouble the Australians throughout a three-Test series.

Let’s be realistic in our expectations, and consider a drawn series as an acceptable outcome.
