Always have a 4 pure bowlers and 2 all-rouners to share the extra 10 overs
Dinesh Chandimal also said that the chances are great that Niroshan Dickwella being pushed to the top of the batting line-up. “We are under pressure in every game to do well, but, as young players we are ready to take up that challenge and do well. We need at least four frontline bowlers for tomorrow’s game. During the last game we felt that void. Besides there is a strong possibility that there would be one or two specialist seamers being included. However at the same time as generally Lankan wickets are dry the attack would be tilted towards a spin heavy one. Nevertheless the biggest challenge would be to win the game in question.”
Thisara Perera, who was picked ahead of the series despite a poor run of form, returned with modest outings with both bat and ball in the four matches. He has been replaced by Dasun Shanaka. The mid-series retirement of Tillakaratne Dilshan has also left the opener's spot vacant. While Dhananjaya de Silva, who was promoted to open in the fourth ODI, struck a crisp 76, the inclusion of Upal Tharanga and Niroshan Dickwella will offer the team management more options to work around with. Tharanga's experience could also come in handy to fill the spot vacated by Mathews in the middle order.
Chandimal admitted that there would be more than one change for tomorrow’s game.
