Now I feel that Mathews is wasting a bowlers spot in the test team, because he doesn't look fit for his age.I've seen in many ODI's he's getting really tired after running few 2's and once got a crapped up after hitting 75 runs and wasn't fit for the next game.
He is a real good player but really have to improve on this fitness, and it must be the only reason he is bowling less than 10 overs per innings. And couple of drop catches..may be he is taking it too easy in the team.I may be wrong but can't really understand the reason for his performance.
While its true that Matthew's drops cost close to a hundred runs (sehwag was around dropped around fifty and mishra ten)I think its the inclusion of welegedera that is to blame b/c he didn't sustain pressure from the other end and bled runs while malinga had to send down 30 overs to his 15; its really a case of a spot being wasted on welegedera when a promising youngster in nuwan pradeep could have been given a go and potentially troubled india much more; in the two matches welegedera has played this series, he has never looked like taking a wicket
on the other hand, mendis and randiv are really starting to look like a promising spin duo
