Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa, and India have all tapped into T20 Cricket. Their domestic tournaments are televised and have fukll houses..
Our international players are playing for crows at the BRC park.
Thanks for the video Hilal. I agree with Thomas. These guys must be crazy. Atleast some matches should have played under lights. Board should try to give publicity to this tourney.
Hilal I think final n semi final will most probably will be telacast on
Channel eye. If possible try to get the footage.
Tell me about it Thomas, what a good opportunity to showcase new talent and give people an opportunity to watch players in action since there aren't any national games for local people to see this year.
These events are free but where are the spectators?
This is due to lack of publicity , not many people know it's happening because it's only mentioned at the back of a newspaper buried amongst other sports news (unless you go looking for it) it's very easy to miss.
Last year provincial 50 over matches were televised on Channel Eye.
Maybe they couldn't find sponsors this year due to current economic climate.
That's all the more reason why they should try to get spectators to the grounds.
They have to get more people involved at this level and muster a bit more enthusiasm than this if we are going to be co-hosting WC 2011.
I think we should take over these events ,lol.
Nice to see our boy (who is currently leading Island cricket's very popular poll "Best school boy Cricketer") Buwaneka Rajapakse doing well.
A friend (Mahesh) emailed me this video. I hope I get the finals - last year Ten Sports covered the tourney with SLRC but none of this year's inter-provincial tourney has been telecast by Ten.
