Chandima first to score 1,000

Sri Lanka youth player and Ananda skipper Dinesh Chandimal reached the milestone of scoring 1000 runs becoming the first schoolboy cricket to achieve this feat this season.

He achieved this feat with a knock of 77 which had eight boundaries against Royal in their annual encounter which got underway at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

Royal: 235 (Sahan Hettiarachchi 64, Kusal Perera 59, Bhanuka Rajapakse 24, Yasitha Abeykoon 23: Ruchira Herath 6 for 62, Sameera Wijesuriya 2 for 39)

Ananda: 166 for 6 (Dinesh Chandimal 77, Praboda Seneviratne 43: Haroon Mowjood 3 for 31)
