I cant understand why more people have said yes. Yes Mahela is amazing and has done wonders, but he knows that we need to groom a captain probably by 2013, who can lead us for the next 10 years. By 2015 he will be around 37, retiring age, and he will be followed by Sanga, Dilly and Malinga.
Therefore we need young blood groomed and ready for the future, so we can rotate and rest the seasoned players and get the advice and inspiration.
Therefore the logical solution is to hand over the captaincy and tutor the next generation.
True but I dont think Mathews is quite ready yet. He needs to establish his test place, fitness and leadership first. Am not sure there is anyone else as well.
Mahela is the best captain in the world today and we have a great chance to win the 2015 WC if he lead the team until then.. Mathews too will be read to take over by 2015.
