regarding his comment about howlers, these can be decisions that were apparently reasonable until they were exposed beyond human perception to be erroneous.
But what we would like surely is a classification of the types of errors that are made and rectified. Consider the studies that have shown that umpires underestimate the size of the stumps and tend to give not out when they should give out. Are umpires learning as a result?
