Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene last night accused India of playing dirty, after spinner Ravi Ashwin controversially "Mankaded'' Lahiru Thirimann.
Thirimann was given out when Ashwin, bowling in the 40th over, removed the bails and appealed as the Sri Lankan batsman was backing up and out..

Mahela has gotten on the high horse a little bit here because I doubt we would not have warned the umpire and the player if someone else did what Thiri did.
Eitherway Thiri was CLEARLY in the wrong here and the Indians probably withdrew the appeal for fear of a backlash.
It was appalling to see Thiri continue to do it even after being 'out'.
I hope this is because he was unaware of the law but shouldnt the umpires have told him then? Beyond me how India didnt try to run him out the 2nd time. I think a team like Australia would have and not felt the least bit guilty. And they would have been right.
