Mahela Jayawardena of Wayamba was first to pick Dinesh Chandimal for his Wayamba Team which was the first selection of the local player draft. Kumar Sangakkara was first to pick Thisara Perera for his team Kandurata.

@CGI a team use an icon player to gather the provincial fans around him , for an example UVA icon player is gayle but i'm sure KANDAMBY or THARANGA will captain that team . but in this case mathews is the SL vice captain so he will be the Nagenahira captain surly
