In a major embarrassment to the BCCI, the ICC has ruled out Eden Gardens as the host of the game between India and England on February 27. The ICC's inspection team, which included some of the leading experts in the field of stadium and ground preparation, felt that Eden Gardens would not be ready in time. No alternate venue for the match has yet been named. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the three World Cup stadiums in Sri Lanka were all given the go-ahead by the ICC.

Are you stupid? Doesn't mean everything is ok because venue is not rejected? Our grounds are still not ready! November 30 and December 31 was deadline!!
umbata wire maruwela!
Another point is that I posted the news article that doesnt mean I wrote it so why you asking me to eat my words?
Jagath, I with the person who commented first here. You are sopying some stupid Indian article trying to cover up its embarrassment over kolkatta issue. The article talks about the re-shifted WI games that is old news.
Please be responsible before dumpin indian shit in a sri lankan forum. We have already given the green light.
To be fair, the following is from the ICC media and communications manager, James Fitzgerald from yesterday:
---
ICC media and communications manager James Fitzgerald told the BBC Sinhala Service it wanted Sri Lanka to shift the venues for the series against the West Indies as "there is still some work required to be carried out."
Fitzgerald admitted there is an "exclusivity period" whereby no non-event-related activities can take place on the ground 21 days prior to the first tournament match or 14 days prior to the first warm-up game.
"The ICC insisted on this exclusivity period due to the fact that there is still some work required to be carried out on the venues, so clearly it's what's best for the tournament. We informed SLC of this in the first week of January," he told the BBC.
---
What this means is that the venues are not ready. These are the facts. You can pretend all you want but WI tour was moved from Hambantota because the venues are not ready.
Are you going to blame the ICC media manager now? Or why not blame BBC for publishing what the media manager had to say.
