Mahela Jayawardene mulls legal action after TV remark

Sri Lanka vice captain Mahela Jayawardene is considering legal action in response to commentary which implied he was guilty of match-fixing. A state television broadcast suggested Jayawardene deliberately played badly for financial gain in Saturday's cricket World Cup defeat by Pakistan.

This is a shame. I bet these people haven't held a bat event to kill a snake! Both Mahela and Thilan got top class deliveries and they were beaten. It was the turning point of the match and they were out for low scores, but that doesn't mean that they fixed the match. I've been watching them for years and I will know if they got out on purpose. This is a disgrace. I hope that this man and the channel will be sued.
There are 20 billionaires in this country. $18k is nothing for a lot of people to place a bet. I don't understand how someone placing a big bet and two batsman getting out to good bowls can be linked.
