It's been a story of so near, yet so far for Sri Lanka since the 2011 World Cup

Sri Lanka has played a considerable amount of cricket since the beginning of last year. They competed fiercely in a gruelling World Cup and had their task cut out immediately thereafter as they faced formidable sides like England and Australia.

Agreed that its been a frustrating few series since the WC. The series in Aus brought back some real hope and lets hope it remains the same in the up comming test series against Eng.
The issue was expected to be the bowling but its been the batting that has led to the scoreline. SL just hasnt been able to put up a decent score when it mattered in the series noted. The bowling hasnt been great but better than expected given the relative inexperince of the attack.
Unfortunately one of the biggest issues have been 'off feild' dramas which will continue to haunt the team - to what extent remains to be seen.
