ICC making mistake... it is a shame we won't get to see a country like Ireland compete in a World Cup for some time. They need more exposure, not the door closed in their face.

Utter shame, compensating assosciate nations with T20 is actually killing the conventional game.

There is a lot of excitement here in Canada when its time to qualify for the WC. Taking that away now will just kill the sport here. Its 2011 and since the 90s there has been talk of trying to promote the game in North America. Its safe to say that the ICC has failed miserably in that regard. I doubt we will see another new Test nation in our lifetime.

Actually its pretty 2 faced what ICC is doing right now, Like Hilal said, I dont see how they are trying to promote the game even though they speak a lot about it. If you see why FIFA is so powerful , thats because every nation has a chance to prove themselves to be a superpower, I dont see how T20 will make an impact on some nations as its a pretty different game.

The 10 team format could remain with each team playing the other and the top 4 qualifying.
But only the first 8 teams on the ICC ODI rankings should qualify, the last 2 should be decided by having a qualifying round with the top 2 associate teams.

Ireland must be playing the world cup..they don't even get enough games against top ranked international teams, but look how well they performed!! They did better than Bangladesh & Zimbabwe for sure!! This is very unfair by them, only team that's going to gain by this are the English!
