Arjuna surprised Sri Lanka 'didn't try' at pallekele

Former Sri Lanka Test captain Arjuna Ranatunga says that he was surprised by the national cricket team’s tactics to abandon the run chase during the third Test against Pakistan at Pallekele International Stadium, which ended in a draw last week.

It is a bit baffling as to what the tactics were. But this is what happens when a team doesn't win a series for a long time.
They play safe and go for the draw. I am sure that was the logic behind inserting the opposition in at SSC for 2nd test also.
To maintain the 1-0 lead and ensure series is lost.
This is the difference between a side that is great, winning and full of confidence, and one that is trying to regain lost ground and rebuild for the future.
