Sri Lanka have moved up one place to number four in the ICC ODI rankings after their 4-1 victory in the ODI series against the South Africa last month in the latest rankings released by the ICC on August 4.

South Africa and Sri Lanka swapped places, which saw Angelo Mathews' men leap-frogging AB de Villiers' side after gaining three ratings points and the Proteas slipping to fifth place after conceding five ratings points.

Meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara has equalled his career-best ranking in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batsmen. Sangakkara achieved a career-best rating of 829 points and has equalled his best-ever ranking of third after finishing as the highest run-getter in the ODI series against South Africa. Sangakkara, who last claimed third position in 2005, scored 372 runs from five matches at an average of 93 in the series.

Tillakaratne Dilshan and Lahiru Thirimanne are the other batsmen from Sri Lanka to move up the rankings. Dilshan has gained two places and is now in sixth spot and he also finds himself at number four in the rankings for ODI all-rounders, while Thirimanne moved to 52nd place (up by 10) in the rankings for ODI batsmen.

Rangana Herath is the only Sri Lankan player in the top 10 in the ODI bowlers' rankings.
