ICC U19 WC 2012Sri Lanka bounced back from the disappointment of losing their opening round clash to Bangladesh with a clinical showing against qualifier Namibia on Monday at Allan Border Field.

A solid batting performance, with five batsmen passing 30 and two scoring half centuries, ensured that Sri Lanka produced a highly competitive score of 298/9.

All-rounder Lahiru Madushanka, who scored 45 off 35 balls (1x4s, 1x6s), capped off a fine match with figures of 4/15 from six overs and helped his side bowl out Namibia for 103 in just 35 overs.

Opener Sebastian Perera top-scored with 69 (84b, 7x4s) and Sandun Weerakkody, who made 50 (45b, 3x4s, 1x6s), were the key contributors for Sri Lanka with the bat.

Namibia lost paceman Jano Coetzee to an injury early in the day. Coetzee’s absence was offset by Zhivago Groenewald, a right-arm paceman who took 3/49 from nine overs.
