Spin legend from Sri Lanka celebrates 40th birthday

The highest wicket taker in Test and ODI cricket Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan turned 40 years old today.
Murali, as he is fondly known, was born on April 17, 1972, in the city of Kandy in central Sri Lanka to parents Sinnasamy Muttiah and Lakshmi.
On March 21, 2005, Murali married Madhimalar Ramamurthy from India.
Now a father of two children, Murali retired from all forms of cricket at the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. He retired from Test cricket on July 7, 2010, and finished with a world record-tally of 800 wickets. He also holds the record for the most ODI wickets - 534.
