Sri Lankan cricket rankings have been fluctuating like Japanese Yen currency, for the past several years. This is a reflection of our teams overall performances in all forms of cricket. It is sad to notice that the team hasn’t got the “killer instinct”. On a good day, the team is extremely good..

Excellent article, most people keep bashing Jayasuriya but nobody thought what the coach was doing.Can't believe that guy haven't played a ODI or a test match.I think we really need a better coach and need to go more tours to Australia,England and South Africa rather than playing against India,India and India.

This guy obviously doesn't understand cricket very much. Sanath shouldn't be even in the squad. He should have retired gracefully long time ago giving youngsters a chance.
Dav Whatmore lost his interest & that is why he was pushed as his other interests took preference. We should get a younger coach with more drive & energy with new uptodate ideas. Also Dav was a heavy smoker & that is not a good idea when you are an International coach. You gotta get stuck in & he was outa breath & setting a bad example.

Under Dav Whatmore, Sri Lankan Cricket team made it to the top as the world cup winners. That's lot more than lots of other coaches around the world managed to do.
Since then,Dav Whatmore did a good job with Bangladesh team, so obviously smoking hasn't made him lose his touch that much. lol.
Perhaps Dav Whatmore lost interest due to political interference too. No matter who they are, any coach taking over Sri Lankan team has this obstacle. Now, more than ever.
Who do you think will be a suitable coach for the Lankan team?
If 11 Jayasuriyas played Sri Lanka would make approximately 33 runs each match at a disgusting Rate of 40 considering Jayasuriyas stats at WC.So THank You very much but SL does not need 11 Jayasuriyas
it needs more people like sachin who is concerned about the future of his country's cricket and not greedy to play while compromising future generations of batting.

we dont want a grandfathers team who will be beaten even by uganda,papua new guinea.
Its difficult to understand why mr sanath greedy jayasuriya is still getting support.
Stop complaining that we only play with India (I kno it gets frustrating sometimes) but be thankful that India are atleast playing with us. Countries lyk Aus and SA think that they are too good for us and therefore only offer matches one in five years.
