[Discussion Thread] Team selection, Bangladesh in Sri Lanka 2013

I personally think the selectors have selected a good squad for the test series and the warmup match, including emerging players in A squads/warmup squads for the visiting teams should have been done long back. Thilan and PJ had a poor 12 months and only got themselves to blame. as Sanath said, young players should be given more opportunities in home matches.

@ SDF - Yes, he is the best keeper in the world ATM but his contribution with the bat was not up to the standard..

I am not happy. Sanath didn't select Angelo perera .

so am i. Bcz angelo perera is very good talented player.

@ Sanjeeve & Sohan - True, Angelo Perera was not selected and he should consider himself unlucky after scoring all those centuries for NCC, he will play in the warm-up match against Banga and should send out a message to the selectors.

Thilan has justified his selection by scoring yet another century for SSC, 3rd in two weeks. hope he will carry the form to the test series.

I was skeptical about Sana being the head selector but he has done really well. Full marks to Sana.

Guys, I like to see Kusal Perera keep in test and bat at 7, Chandi should be a pure batsman or else we wont get the maximum from him, he should bat 4, Thiri at 3 if Sanga is unable to play in first test. Development squad looks very exciting too.
