Kevin Pietersen threatens to quit
January 7, 2009 - 15:15
English cricket is in turmoil following reports Kevin Pietersen has threatened to quit as captain ahead of the tour of the West Indies.
Pietersen, who only took the job last August, is reported to be unhappy working with coach Peter Moores.
Sources at the ECB told Sky Sports News Pietersen has said he will not tour the West Indies under the current regime, intimating he will not continue as captain while Moores remains as coach.
The ECB are believed to have held an emergency teleconference of their 12-man executive board on Tuesday evening to discuss the rift between coach and captain.
The outcome of those discussions appears to have prompted Pietersen to refuse to lead the West Indies tour unless Moores is removed.

Kick KP out of the team. Stupid poms keep kissing his ass and he feels he can just threaten to quit if he doesn't get his way.
ECB is copying one to one, which is hapening in SL off the field (politic). We are lucky still with SLC politics, that we still have a good skipper. KP was never accepted by those other English players, cause he is a South African.
England had a former captain (not long ago) who was born in Madras (Nasar Hussain) and past and present players who weren't/aren't English born. So KP's birthplace was not the problem.
KP is errr... a bit too spirited and, he wasn't exactly captain material. That's the problem.
Andrew Strauss, the new English captain if I am not mistaken, was born in Zimbabwe or South Africa?
I think Stuart Broad will make a very good captain in a few years time, if he hangs in there.
Yes, thank god for Mahela. lol
