This sounds like parents complaining to daily mirror that their son was not picked.
My son is now 34, he was a prime batsman since his under-13 days, I would take him to colts to face Zoysa, Liyanage, and Vaas under the guidance of Dias.
I took him to NCC and many who saw him bat said he had the grace, height, and strength of Inzamam.
He would never be picked for his school team, St. Peter's College junior coach Sunil is an alcoholic and he only prefers parents who buy him some booze!
We moved to New Zealand. My son played a season of under 17 matches, in his first season 3 centuries in 6 matches. He gave up Cricket because from the age of 15-17 because he wasnt given that chance to play for college he began loosing interest and followed through because of my pressure. Sri Lanka cricket needs to pay more attention to school cricketers - many boys are dropping out from that low level. Provincial and club cricket wont help our future. We have to make sure from school level boys dont quit due to favour-ism in selection.
