Sri Lanka embarrassingly out of the Asia Cup
Submitted by ROAR OF LANKA on March 15, 2012 - 07:19
Sri Lanka, having lost to India by 50 runs and now set to lose against Pakistan today after being bundled out to a poor score, are facing the possibility of an embarassing early exit from the Asia Cup 2012, even with a game to go against Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka in Asia-Cup history, have featured in all finals to date, but today's defeat will see them not reaching the finals.
It is very accurate to say that Sri Lanka have not taken the Asia Cup series very seriously and hasnt played with any enthusiasm.
This will be Sri Lanka sixth successive series defeat, they have not won any series since the CWC 2011.

shut up shankster..if you dont want to read it you can leave it..no one asked your opinion..u filthy stinker..
@ Sakthivel: i think ur posting this on the wrong thread. because Lankan fans didnt say that (majority) and mostly the indian fans said that.
lose to Bangladesh wont b an impossibility they are playing wonderful cricket and our guys are sadly a 'bungled desh'
Soon the world best captain ever will face the situation not to become the last in Asia.
If SL wants to become a force in world criket, we have to drop IPL jokers and find new players for 2015 WC.
Bangladesh plays excellent criket and deserve not to become last in the tournament. On the other hand SL, sad to say fully deserve that place.

I sort of expected this and really the Asia cup is more of a distraction in the bigger picture. SL just had a good tour of Aus and Eng are already warming up for an important series and here they are playing a knock out one day event in Dhaka! I think SL were drained after their run in Aus and really it's asking a lot to back up so quickly for another tournament which leaves no room to recover from a loss.
#8: Absolutely correct.
