Nuwan Pradeep shines in Wayamba victory

Wayamba beat Kandurata-Uva Combined XI by 133 runs in the Sri Lanka Cricket Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament final played at the NCC grounds in Colombo today.
Earlier Kandurata-Uva captain Thilina Kandamby won the toss and put Wayamba in. Brilliant centuries by wicket-keeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella (104) and all-rounder Farveez Maharoof (112) lifted Wayamba to 348/4in 50 overs, which also included a cameo from skipper Jehan Mubarak (77), while Amil Perera took two for 80.
Chasing 349 for victory, Kandurata-Uva were bowled out for 215 in 38.4 overs. Nuwan Pradeep took 5/45 and Kosala Kulasekara picked two wickets to give Wayamba the victory in the final.
New chairman of selectors Sanath Jayasuriya attended the match.

niroshan who is just 19 already has scored 3 centuries in 14 matches...should give them some opportunities like south africa has given to de kock...
Niroshan has scored 600 odd @ an avg of 44 and strike rate of 90

@ Arshad - Yes, Emerging players will be given a chance during the Banga tour, between never underestimate the present Bangladesh team.
Sanga, mahela and dilshan should not play ODIs in the bangladesh tour...Niroshan should be given a chance...No harm even if he fails...Jayasuriya,tendulkar,afridi and many played @ 19.

@cricket fan r u kidding me?Bangladesh is the asia cup runner ups,the last time when we played against Bangladesh we lost with them , they r a better ODI unit now,plus we don't have a murali or sana in our team to make sure that we will win even if the experiments fail,not a good series to experiment & no need to experiment since there r lots of young players in our team . i think we get a zim & a WI tour in the future, we can do some experiments in there.

@ Cricket fan - don't think Niroshan will be picked for Banga tour,should play 'A' tours to polish the skills a bit.Besides we got plenty of Wicket-keeper-batsman options.

SJ attended the match? Hope this doesn't prompt him to bring Mubarak and Kandamby back in to the mix. Don't need more 30yr olds in the squad.
Wish they showed these colours in their 20s!
