Sri-Lanka A team beats Canada, again!

This time it was no walk in the park for the Srilankan A team who took on the visiting Canadians once more, playing a 50 over match at Colombo Colts Club.
Canadians did their best to chase the very decent total achieved by the Sri-Lankans, but losing by 45 runs.

Sri-Lankan total of 290 was boosted by Tharanga Paranavithana scoring 77 runs. A massive improvement from his last match.

Farveez Maharoof re confirming his all round ability, was handy for the Srilankans with the bat today. Maharoof scored a 67 unbeaten runs in 59 balls and that included 2 sixes and 4 boundaries.

Mahela Udawatte and Gihan Rupasinghe both scored 31 runs before becoming victims for Bhatti. Chamara Kapugedera also became a target of Bhatti even before he had a chance to get going.

Canadian bowling attack was led by Umar Bhatti once again, taking 3 wickets while Khurram Chohan contributed with an equal amount of wickets.
Harvir Singh Baidwin, who had a stint with the Colts Cricket Club during Srilankan club season last year, managed 1 wicket too.

Taking 3 wickets was not evidently enough for Umar Bhatti. He also fought with the bat scoring  51in Canada's reply of 245 runs.

Kaushal Silva was ducking and diving behind the wicket,  taking a catch to restrict Shaheed Keshvani at 3. Ashish Bagai scored 75 runs before getting run out by a combined fielding effort by  Chamara Kapugedera & Kaushal Silva. Not before  Kapugedera & Silva getting a bit of practice by instigating the down fall of Saad Bin Zafar who was on 23.

Rizwan Cheema scored a fast and furious 29 runs off 15 balls before going back to the shade in the Colts pavilion courtesy of  Vidanapathirana special delivery.

Chamara Vidanapathirana who represents CCC, took 2 wickets while  Nuwan Kulasekera,  Seekuge Prasanna and Sachithra Senanayake  helped with a wicket each.

Cricket Tragic, they do allow cameras in to the stadium as far as I know.

I think  entrance is free.
I turned up at a game to see Sri Lanka A against India at Sara Oval, August 08.

Nobody asked me to buy tickets or tried to stop me

Next game is played at the Oval (P Sara) I think. Just walk in there and see.
Don't ask permission for photos, just take them

They are playing Ireland at SSC on the 4th of February.
Go get some "Chicken Dance" photos for me please.

Miss, it's 'Sri Lanka'. Two words, no dashes. Not 'Srilanka' or 'Sri-Lanka'.

Are they showing these games on tv in SL?

It's not Nuwan Kulasekara. Kosala Kulasekara who plays for NCC.

 My bad Square Cut.

Yeah, I know of Kosala Kulasekara, apologies to him too.

It is very difficult to get information on these matches.

I wonder if any of you guys have time to go along and report back (get some photos, perhaps?)
There is very little written about these matches. Which is a shame, because this is a very strong team and we have several national players trying to find their form, participating in these games and some are doing very well indeed.

Note to the skipper: Hey Skippy, how about  providing us with some first hand info on players, match conditions, nice photos  etc
It will be greatly appreciated
