Sri Lankans at the Champions League Twenty20 - 2009

Several Sri Lankan cricketers will be on show during the Champions League Twenty20, 2009.
Apart from the all Sri Lankan Wayamba team, Sri Lankan fans may also get the opportunity to see others representing their IPL franchises.
Chaminda Vaas - Deccan Chargers, Tillakaratne Dilshan - Delhi Daredevils, Jehan Mubarak - Wayamba, Michael Vandort - Wayamba, Ishara Amerasinghe - Wayamba, Chanaka Welegedara - Wayamba, Sameera de Zoysa - Wayamba, Mahela Udawatte - Wayamba, Rangana Herath - Wayamba, Isuru Udana - Wayamba, Thissara Perera - Wayamba, Ajantha Mendis - Wayamba, Farveez Maharoof - Wayamba, Mahela Jayawardene - Wayamba, Jeevantha Kulatunga - Wayamba, Kaushal Lokuarachchi - Wayamba, Shalika Karunanayake - Wayamba.

Can anyone explain me why Dilshan plying for Dilhi rather than playing for his country???.Is this all because of money or something else?

I highly doubt Chaminda Vaas would get a chance to play for Deccan though.. He hardly got a chance in the IPL as well.. I think it has alot to do with Gilchrist..

Dilshan plays for Basnahira South. Only Wayamba has qualified to play. So If Dilshan doesn't play for his IPL franchise, he won't be playing at all.

Mendis is probably going to get out all the South Africans when they play against him lol. And he's playing on Indian pitches. Have a strong feeling he's going to do well.
And if Dilshan does well again then he's got to be the undisputed batsman of the year.

4 foreign players rule is not there I think. So vassy will get a chance. I feel Deccan are making a mistake by not taking Chamara Silva. They had a young players called Bilakia in IPL who is totally useless. Will Laxman make it in to final xi of Deccan. I hope so.

If Wyamba is North Western Sri Lanka, why players like Mahela, Vandort, Maharoof, Mubarak, Mendis, Udawatte , Isuru Udana ( all born in and around Colombo) playing for that team?
Shouldn't they be playing for Basnahira?

Their main aim was to create a five competitive sides. They have divided the talent accordingly. Since there are only few top players from Wayamba they had to do that. Even for Kandurata there are players like Thilan, Dilhara who are from Colombo.

Yes they wanted to balance all sides otherwise Basnahira will be winning all the time. I hope they should change names, make it more interesting.

Rhuhuna could've provided far more players than Basnahira.

Dilshan plays for B/ south. T. Mirando plays for Kandurata. Most of Ruhuna players out of form, I do not think they are competitive anymore
