Island Cricket turns one

Island Cricket was launched on the 25th of December 2008. It's hard to imagine that we are already an year old! I sincerely hope that in it's first year Island Cricket has been a source of information for Sri Lankan Cricket fans, and more importantly I hope it served it's purpose, as a platform for the average Cricket fan to have his/her voice heard.

If you didn't already know, Island Cricket allows anyone to create an account, create a blog, and publish their opinions on all things related to Sri Lankan Cricket. We have no professional journalist amongst us.

I would like to thank the volunteer workers and donors who made IC possible. Thank you for your tireless efforts and generous contributions.

Road Map

We hope to migrate to a new server which would increase the overall speed and efficiency of the site. We also hope to subscribe to a news wire service such as the Associated Press or AFP. This will allow us to publish breaking news in full and publish images of the Sri Lankan Cricket team submitted by professional photographers.

In the coming year we hope to develop on what we have here. Ideally we would like to do away with all the advertising. In order to accomplish all this the operating costs need to be covered.
